15K Challenge Complete!

I just finished doing the Running on the wall 15K Forest Gump challenge! Instead of running the 15K in one shot, I divided it into 3 days. Running a 5K every day seemed like a more exciting challenge. Today I was able to finish the challenge running my last 3.5 miles on the treadmill. I ran out on the trails yesterday as the day was far too beautiful to stay inside.

I have been running on the treadmill for safety because I am nursing the knee injury. The last thing I wanted was to be stuck 3 miles into the trail away from my car..alone. But being that my knee has been feeling better and better with daily stretches and KT Tape, I figured one run outside couldn’t hurt.

It was a perfect run actually! The weather was cool and breezy in the low 60s, I did nothing but enjoy nature and being grateful to be out and enjoy the day, I didn’t really look at my watch, as I already know the distance I ran but I kept a steady pace at 9:55. No pain, no problems, no worries. =)1427843397915

So today, I did finish my last 5K of the challenge on the treadmill. I was so happy with this virtual race! It was a great distance and a lot of fun.Not to mention the reward that came with it…and no I’m not talking about the nice big medal. I am talking about the chocolate bar…yes chocolate!

Finally get to enjoy my chocolate!

All in all it was a fun virtual race to do. I have done many 5Ks in the past but this one was a challenge for me and anything that makes me work hard or overcome obstacles is worth doing.
