The sweetest weekend

My weekend was filled with frosting, cakes, track and field, a lazy river, ASICS, and  oh yeah…over 2000 cupcakes!!! I had the honor to take part in Hilton Bonnet Creek Cupcake lover’s weekend. To say it was a lot of fun is an understatement. It was FULL of events for the entire family.

First off, walking into the lobby, you are greeted with a plate of cupcakes, after checking in, I get a plate of cupcakes delivered to my room. My weekend was off to a wonderful start! Mini me was with me, as he runs for cupcakes as well and he was not missing out on trying these delicious sweets. We quickly headed down to where the hotel was hosting a special cupcake voting. Where Hilton team members had creatively made their own cupcakes and we could vote on our favorites. Lots of great, fun, designs this year!

After we indulged in a cupcake or two or three, we prepped to run a few miles as a family and then took our little to track and field practice as next week begins competition for him. We couldn’t be more excited and proud of all the hard work and dedication he puts into it. He says he truly loves to run and loves the feeling of accomplishments when he reaches his goals.

Once we finished sweated and running in the ridiculous heat, we headed back for the BIG BIG cupcake reveal! Hilton Bonnet Creek had a HUGE 7 foot tall cupcake with a big surprise inside….it was filled with 2,000 cupcakes beautifully decorated! I didn’t even want to eat mine! But I did! I may or may not have had more than 1 cupcake.

Then we headed over to the cupcake kid zone! My little had so much fun there! All the kids choose their plain cupcake and decorated it themselves. But it was hilarious to see what they were coming up with and the mountain of stuff they were putting on their cupcakes. But seeing how much fun they were all having being “pastry chefs” for the day was priceless. All you could hear was giggles, laughs, and see smiles everywhere.

We also took time to float around the lazy river that goes around the Hilton, which was much-needed and VERY relaxing but the rain that would come and go made it difficult. Either way we still know how to have fun in the rain! We enjoyed eating at various places around the Hilton Bonnet Creek and we definitely can’t wait to go back. It was the perfect way to kick off summer. I totally recommend you stay here if you plan on visiting Orlando. They have tons of activities around the pool to enjoy with a DJ and you can be a mermaid for the day by joining the mermaid academy(obviously weather permitted).

Whenever we decide to do a family staycation, this is the place we go to. There are tons of things to do, buses to the Walt Disney World parks just minutes away, dozens of places to eat on property, and our favorite pool!  They have events going on and have special rates you can check on here.
