No wine, some dine, 13.1 miles

I haven’t really talked about it, but I am gearing up to run the runDisney Wine and Dine Half marathon on Sunday(tomorrow). I honestly wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make it. I’ve been trying to train but it has been so grueling that I have no clue how my performance will be on race day.

I believe this will be half marathon number 9. Sorry I don’t keep track of them(I have to count) I honestly just run to run, I don’t keep tabs on how many I’ve done. Half marathon are such a fun distance. Especially at Disney! There are character stops, music, dancing, and the finish line in itself is a party. I would totally recommend it if you haven’t done it. But while surprisingly I feel ready and excited to run, I am a bit nervous.

Fear is nowhere is sight, neither is doubt. I have trained as best I could and have given it my all without pushing too hard where things could get bad. I have a few good runs under my belt and I will be running with TONS of friends, including Alpha. So I have a feeling we are in for a good time.

This will be my first race after the mini stroke, all my seizures, and the new finding found in my brain mri scans. So send me a cheer, and some positive vibes my way will ya? 😉

For those of you battling with fear or nervousness for your first half/full marathon this weekend, believe in yourself. I see how hard you train and break a sweat. You are ready and deep down you know you are, so why are you having negative thoughts? Don’t let it get to you. Once you arrive to the start line, you are already a winner. Cross the finish line and you are a champion. It takes a lot of courage and strength to do what you all do so be proud of yourself and don’t let the fear overtake your mind. Fill it with a positive mantra. “Yes I can, because I will.”

believe-in-you

Alpha and I always dress up in costume and this race is no exception. We will be Bell and the Beast from his favorite Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast.

I am having some minor issues with pain that I am trying to get under control before the race. I’ve had a migraine all week that hasn’t calmed down. Hoping that resting yesterday and some today will help.

Make sure you are following me on instagram where I will post any pictures and keep you all posted on how I’m doing. I’ll do my best to post some later on over on my Facebook.
