So another runDisney marathon weekend has come and gone. Weather was unpredictable as usual because well…..Florida. Last year, it was 30 something degrees and this year we were in the 80s. Horrible running conditions in my opinion. But I was happy that I was staying in part of Hilton Bonnet Creek‘s marathon weekend.
Have you heard or stayed there for a race yet? It is a great place to stay. Besides the amazingly comfortable beds, they take care of you in every sense of the word. They shuttle you to and from the race for the half and the full marathon. They offer super delicious car load dinners especially made for runners. And when you book the Marathon Weekend package, you also get a runner’s concierge! They answer all your questions and get your ready for race day so you have nothing to worry about.
Did I mention that there is a massive pool with a lazy river and a water slide?!!? With a bar/casual dinning area that has poolside service with delicious drinks and food. Trust me you’ll want to take advantage of this if you are here. Especially while you enjoy the Florida rays as you relax while the kids are going round and round in the lazy river.
Hilton Bonnet Creek also has a late check out of 2 p.m. which is simply the best! Because who wants to wake up super early and have to check out after being super duper tired?!? I know I don’t! They also have an incredible spa and give you discount to use during your stay. And they have tons of fun places to eat and have signature drinks at. Even fire pits if it’s too cold out. Yes it gets cold here in Orlando too!
They also have a BIG group of cheerleaders up before we are at 2 a.m. screaming, dancing, and singing for us as we are ready to board the bus at the runner’s send off party. I tell you, I think they have a lot of fun cheering us on. I posted about 3 videos of them as they cheered for each runner and made every one of us feel special as we came down the hallway towards the tables full of hydration, coffee, food and power bars.
