February 22, a race is coming to Downtown Orlando! I am excited to share it with you because I will be running it and I am hoping to see you there! It is the Sixth Annual Purple Pride 5K 2020!
The Purple Pride 5K is a great way for the Orlando City soccer fans, and the running community to come together and enjoy a nice race around the Exploria Stadium. This 3.1 miles race presented by Orlando Health, Publix and Jet Blue, will start outside of the stadium on Church St. and for the FIRST TIME EVER finish on the sideline of the field inside the stadium!!! That sounds so awesome! Spectators will get to sit in the seats and watch the finish and runners will exit the field through the iconic, black-lit player’s tunnel!
The race takes place on
Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 8 a.m.
at:
-Race bib
-Race shirt
-Commemorative finisher medal(glows in the dark!)
-AND one ticket to the 2020 Orlando City Home Opener on Saturday, February 29th against Real Salt Lake.
The course will have a total of two water stops along the course where water will be provided. Water will also be provided at the Finish Line. And there will be medical emergency professionals available to provide assistance at the start/finish lines.
It will be a good race, wear your purple(or not), get your family and friends and sign up now before it’s too late! The race is capped so register before it gets filled up! There will be post race fun as well complimentary refreshments for runners, and interactive games for everyone!
You’ll get an E-race packet that you’ll receive in your email which will include race information, course map, exclusive partner discounts, club promotions, and much more. This should be expected to arrive the day before the race.
Day of race:
6:00-7:30 AM – Registration & Packet Pick-up Open
8:00 AM – 5K Race Start
8:15 AM – 10:00 AM – Post-Race Party
9:30 AM (approx.) – Awards Ceremony(Top 3 Overall Male & Female Winners receive gift cards from associated partners, along with other prizes.)
