Hear ye hear ye runDisney princesses!!

runDisney has tons of races they offer at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Many of the races get sold out soon after registration opens. Some of them are completely sold out within hours. As a runDisney fanatic, I intend to participate in all the races they offer.

As you know I am currently training for the Walt Disney Marathon in January, along with the newly added Walt Disney World 10K. woohoo! Day is almost here! But Disney has also added some new events to Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. This event is probably the most sought after race. It is a half marathon consisting of women power!!! Women dress up as their favorite princess, or super woman. Men also join the race, and dress up too. I have seen some men Tinkerbell and princesses. It is pretty funny and fun to root them on!

For the 2014 weekend, they have also added 2 new events: The Enchanted 10k, and the Glass Slipper Challenge. I wanted to register for the inaugural races but things didn’t work out. 2015 I’m looking at you!!!!!!

This  race weekend has the infamous Princess Half Marathon with a course that starts outside of Epcot, taking you through Cinderella’s Castle in the Magic Kingdom, to end your fairytale run at Epcot.

Disney-Princess-RunnerThen you have the new enchanted 10K which takes you on a magical journey through Epcot.  Another new race I would LOVE to do: THE GLASS SLIPPER CHALLENGE!!!! It consist of running the half marathon and the 10K. You would receive a total of 3 medals.

Along with these races, there is also the Cinderella Royal Family 5K, which takes you on a magical family run through Epcot. This is a great race to do together with your family. It’s open to all princesses and princes including the little ones. As with all the runDisney weekends, there is also the kids races, which includes babies in their diapers to 13 year olds running the mile. Depending on the child’s age, then the distance race will vary.

There is also the Coast to Coast Challenge with a special edition medal for the 2014 weekend. The CTC Challenge is when a runner completes the Tinerkbell Half Marathon in January in Disneyland, and then completes the Princess Half Marathon in February in Walt Disney World the same year will receive a Coast to Coast medal. But this year the CTC participants will receive a special “pink” version of the medal.

This weekend full of fabulous princesses all over Walt Disney World takes place in February. I hope to run this event, as this along with the wine and dine half marathon in November would be the only events I haven’t ran. I hope to run the Glass Slipper Challenge one year as I am already prepared since I am married to prince charming..aaawwww ok ok enough =)
