The saga continues…..
How crazy…I feel like my story is turning into a Star Wars story. I go from one episode to the next, except it’s not as exciting and there aren’t lightsabers or jedis involved….although it would be cool though…maybe I should start adding some…I have enough lightsabers…..OK let me stop. I can talk Star Wars for days.
I saw my Orthopedic Doctor and he thinks that the cervical issue isn’t something too serious, yay! He said considering my Scoliosis, it was actually expected to happen and so long as I can deal with the pain then I am OK. While at his office, He was looking for MRI report and he didn’t have it. Luckily I did and in it was the MRI report of my brain. I forgot to take it out (because it was a lot of added pages) As he read he saw there were some “abnormalaties” found in my brain and was immediately concerned.
We have been working together since last year, when we found out in the hospital that my spine has moved an incredible amount of degrees. I’ve given him a lot of head scratchers but he hasn’t given up on me!
I am not and haven’t been on any pain medication. He isn’t surprised as every time he sees he says that I am one of his strongest patients. He says I handle pain well and I very high in the pain tolerance scale and always asks me how I mange on the bad days. While I will take an anti inflammatory, my answer to him is ALWAYS…KT Tape.
In case you don’t know what it is, it’s a lightweight, barely there tape that provides 24 hour pain relief. KT Tape is applied along muscles, ligaments, and tendons to provide external support that helps you remain active while recovering from injuries. It creates neuromuscular feedback (called proprioception) that inhibits (relaxes) or facilitates stronger firing of muscles and tendons. This feedback creates support elements without the bulk and restriction commonly associated with wraps and heavy bracing. KT Tape gives you confidence to perform your best.(found on kt tape.com)

So all thanks to KT Tape, it’s been keeping my Scoliosis pain under control. I have been able to keep the chronic swelling down with the edema apps and when the pain flares up I just apply the tape and done! I found KT Tape about 6 years ago and I can’t be more grateful. It gives me the freedom I need to not be stuck in bed. It gives me the ability the walk around and live “normally” and RUN!!!! I love all the different colors and designs it comes in. I apply it depending on my current mood lol. My tape generally stays on for about 2 weeks with no problems. I honestly forget its on me. It’s become a part of me, I ALWAYS have it on me, mostly on my back, but now recently my left arm.
We are in the process of trying to figure out what the heck is going on with my left arm. I’ve had lots of tests done, some super painful and uncomfortable but nothing has been found. Could just be my fibromyalgia, but it’s a constant, never going away pain. Luckily the tape is relieving the pain so it could be a muscle pressing a nerve causing it to radiate from my elbow to my hand. I am going through KT Tape rolls like you wouldn’t believe but it’s worth it than to deal with the pain.
I am utterly grateful that such a thing exists. It’s non-medicated and its literally just tape that stretches over the skin and allows the skin to lift to allow better blood flow to reach the muscle to repair the damage that is causing pain. It speeds up recovery times and it also reduces muscle swelling. It helps reduces knee pain, shin splints, lower back pain, swelling, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, ITBS, hip pain, bruising, swollen ankles, gosh so many more!!!
Right now it has given me relief at all my chronic pain areas, that I can solely focus on the issue with my brain. While I keep finding obstacle after obstacle on my journey, I find ways to make it easier or ways around them. Having KT Tape has surely made it easier and made things possible. Right now, these are two apps alone with another wrist app I am currently swearing by. Both, done by my PT, Ergasia, who is INCREDIBLY smart! He has been the one to find the cause of my pains and the best stretches, moves, and KT Tape applications for me.
These combined apps have been keeping the pain down my arm at bay. I have been sleeping horribly like a zombie with my arms out stretched in front of me. But with these apps I can sleep, somewhat better. If you haven’t tried KT Tape, give it a chance. I have luckily helped several people overcome their injuries with it.
I just love this so much and believe in those product so much that I want to share it with all of you. I’ve spent most of my life in bed, or struggling to find pain relief. Having so many spinal fusions, and pain meds being the only pain relief, I knew there was something else out there for me, I just had to find it. This is it…
Now if there was only a KT Tape app for the brain I’d be set…. 😉
