Being a chronic pain sufferer, it can be tough to find support. Or even finding someone who understands what you are going through. Trying to explain what you deal with on a daily basis to someone who has no idea is tough. Your family and friends can sometimes feel helpless and don’t know what to do, as you don’t know how to explain how you feel.
If you have ever tried to find a group of people who understand, you might have come across The Mighty. Have you heard of them? The Mighty is a huge online community with over 100 million readers. It has REAL stories of REAL people, facing REAL challenges. Having chronic health issues, or disabilities can already make us feel alone, and looking for support and being unsuccessful doesn’t help. But that is what The Mighty is!
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read an article on The Mighty site, that perfectly describes how I feel or what I go through. I appreciate the fact that it’s done by real people and not medical professionals assuming that those are the things us, chronic pain sufferers go through.
I am now happy to share with you all that I am a writer for The Mighty! I am so excited about this because you know how I feel about helping others with pain and overcoming it. Now I can help even MORE people who suffer from Scoliosis, Fibromyalgia, headaches, migraines, and brain tumors. Those are all the chronic conditions I suffer from and have a lot of experience with.
I am also happy to share with you, that they have already published my first article! YAY! So much excitement =)
I am delighted to be writing for them and I look forward to helping others get through any challenges and encourage anyone to dig deep. I will continue to share how running helps me get through all of this and strengthen me on my tough days. You all know how I am and know how strongly I feel the word impossible. Believing in yourself is the most powerful thing you could do.
